The Bird's Nest

Well, here we go. I'll never be able to compete with my creative daughters, but seems this is the latest craze and I so enjoy looking at their blogs....and yours too Barbie Jo....so I gotta join the fad. I have no idea how to do this so it's pretty plain jane, but when I figure it out, we'll snazz it up.

There's A Hole In My Sidewalk

Chapter One
I walk down a street and there's a big hole. I don't see it and fall into it. It's dark and hopeless and it takes me a long time to find my way out. It's not my fault !

Chapter Two
I walk down the same street. There's a big hole and I can see it, but I still fall in. It's dark and hopeless and it takes me a long time to get out. It's still not my fault.

Chapter Three
I walk down a street. There's a big hole. I can see it, but I still fall in. It's become a habit. But I keep my eyes open and get out immediately. It is my fault.

Chapter Four
I walk down a street. There's a big hole. And I walk around it.

Chapter Five
I walk down a different street.

After A While

After a while you learn the subtle difference between holding a hand and chaining a soul and you learn that love doesn’t mean leaning and company doesn’t always mean security. And you begin to learn that kisses aren’t contracts and presents aren’t promises; and you begin to accept your defeats with your head up and your eyes ahead, with the grace of woman, not the grief of a child and you learn to build all your roads on today because tomorrow’s ground is too uncertain for plans and futures have a way of falling down in mid-flight. After a while you learn that even sunshine burns if you get too much; so you plant your own garden and decorate your own soul instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers. And you learn that you really can endure; you really are strong; you really do have worth and you learn and you learn..with every goodbye, you learn…
